After reading Fifty Shades of Grey last year, I have to say that it was hard for me to read another trilogy that would captivate me just like Christian Grey did, but THE SUBMISSIVE with Nathaniel West totally held my interest. For those who thought Anastasia Steele was a little na?ve, I have to say that Abigail King was the total opposite and she held her own at times.
I did a little research after I had received this book to review and was saddened that I have to wait for the next two books to be released, but I will sacrifice and wait. Thank you so much, Tara Sue Me, for publishing your work and for the publishing company that made this possible.
I got so excited as I was reading this book and I couldn't wait to see what happened next. However, I will tell you this: he needs to really beg Abigail in order for her to forgive him because what he did was cruel. Some surprising truths were also revealed.
When I first started reading this story, I really didn't like Nathaniel because he was such a jerk, but when Abigail found herself in a bad situation, he was there to comfort her and make sure she was fine. That was when I truly fell in love with him. He was able to give Abigail what she was missing from her past relationships, to discover a new lifestyle and not be afraid of a little pain because pleasure was right around the corner. I really liked that this showed a certain side of him and how it impacted Abigail because of his insecurities and intimacy issues. How his actions pained Abigail and how she was able to handle each intense situation. It took a lot of guts, will and power to do what she did. I loved the storyline of this book and how it unfolded a D/s relationship and touched all of the bases for that type of relationship.

¡?I really enjoyed the heck of it.¡? ~Under the Covers
Another fan fiction/Fifty book you ask?
Yes¡?it is exactly that. Well, not exactly. Apparently, this is the book that E.L. James got some of her ideas from¡?that and Twilight. And while I didn¡?t really get a lot of Twilight from this book, you can definitely see the things that E.L. James picked out of it. As far as it being a fan fiction, the only clue I had was the lack of the character¡?s physical descriptions.
That being said, I really enjoyed the heck of it. I¡?m not sure what¡?s happened but this story line has not gotten old for me. Each story seems to have enough differences to keep me entertained¡?and entertained I was.
For me, this story seemed to deal more with the BDSM side of things. Right from the start, Abigail (Abby) is going in for an interview with Nathaniel to be his submissive. She has had a ¡?thing¡? for him since he had a hand in helping save her Mother¡?s house. The problem is that she has no experience being a sub and Nathaniel doesn¡?t train submissives but he decides to make an exception in her case.
There¡?s a contract to sign, medical forms to fill out, exercise programs to follow as well as eating and sleeping requirements and BAM, come Friday at 6 pm it¡?s time for the festivities. Nathaniel has a couple of rules¡?he doesn¡?t do kissing and his subs do not spend the night in his bed. That really didn¡?t bother me too much except he had Abby sleep on a pallet on his bedroom floor sometimes and I didn¡?t really care for that.
