I am Abraham Lincoln Description
We can all be heroes. That’s the inspiring message of this lively, collectible picture book biography series from
New York Times bestselling author Brad Meltzer.
“Kids always search for heroes, so we might as well have a say in it,” Brad Meltzer realized, and so he envisioned this friendly, fun approach to biography – for his own kids, and for yours. Each book tells the story of one of America’s icons in an entertaining, conversational way that works well for the youngest nonfiction readers, those who aren’t quite ready for the Who Was series. Each book focuses on a particular character trait that made that role model heroic. For example, Abraham Lincoln always spoke up about fairness, and thus he led the country to abolish slavery. This book follows him from childhood to the presidency, including the Civil War and his legendary Gettysburg Address.
This engaging series is the perfect way to bring American history to life for young children, and to inspire them to strive and dream.

“I am Abraham Lincoln” is an educational book for preschool children from Ordinary People Change World series written by Brad Meltzer and illustrated by Christopher Eliopoulos that speaks about Abraham Lincoln allowing children to get to know more about this special person important for American history.
The author presents the most important events of his life starting from his childhood until the days when he became President. While talking about the things Lincoln loved to do, such as writing and reading, the author indirectly sends a message to young readers that these activities are useful and recommended.
Also, he points out some human characteristics that Lincoln possessed such as belief in his own ideas of freedom and justice, about the patience and efforts needed to invest to attain your goal not giving up even in the case of threats that come from outside. On the other hand, Meltzer touches some bad things that no one should do such as animal torture or cheating that will eventually be discovered.
Therefore “I am Abraham Lincoln” is an inspiring book that could be recommended for children that will soon start attending school, a book from which they will learn something important about the this man, slavery and American history, but even more important to learn about some of the good human characteristics and self-respect.
Together with educational and inspirational text, the illustrator with his imaginative and beautifully made colorful illustrations further raises the value of this nicely made book for children that deals with the history in the different way.
