Prepper's Home Defense: Security Strategies to Protect Your Family by Any Means Necessary Description
Review
"Two things I especially like about the book are that it is realistic and that I couldn't find any really bad advice....I feel Cobb tells readers what they should hear which is a credit to him." -- Charlie Palmer, Author of THE PREPPER NEXT DOOR
"Prepper's Home Defense has earned a place on my bookshelf by giving me the information I needed to go home and put in place some security procedures and equipment that made my home more secure the day I read the book." -- Stephanie Dayle, American Preppers Network
"I like this book because it simply addresses security issues which are of concern in preparedness circles, and also because even after twenty five years of prepping, it gave me some additional perspectives especially in the areas of structure hardening, safe rooms, and communications.... Jim Cobb gets my wholehearted recommendation for this book." -- RationalPreparedness.blogspot.com
"Jim does a great job in laying out the options and helping the reader wade through all of the available weapons choices. I especially liked his improvised 'hand-spike' fashioned from a hub cap removal tool.... If you like reading about prepping - especially defense - you will like this book. It's a great compilation of security strategies to help protect your 'fort' and 'family'...." -- Creek Stewart, Willow Haven Outdoor
"
Starting from with basic concepts, he has put together a solid work for evaluating your home from a defensibility perspective and explains what items are necessary to have for both survival and defense." -- ReadingRoomBookReviews.comAbout the Author

The cliche of offering 'Something for everyone' is, in the case of Prepper's Home Defense, an apt description.
A good portion of the book deals with steps that are best implemented in a group environment; a group of preppers that are physically close together and can build a support team. If you are fortunate to be in such a situation, that is fantastic and these parts of the book can be used to implement security. I personally am not in such a situation, but I still learned a lot of good ideas to consider in those parts of the book.
Other parts deal with steps a couple or individual can take, and those more isolated can gain much from those discussions.
In a country or area with strict weapon controls? There are ideas presented to still secure and protect yourself. Have you heard the '3 is 2 and 2 is 1' adage? Meaning you should not count on just one solution to any need, you need to have plan 'B' and then plan 'C'. This book gives lots of smart alternative ideas you can use not just as primary solutions, but as backup plans as well.
The author also takes time to warn about remaining inside the boundaries of the laws that effect you, at least as long as there remains a Rule Of Law. I appreciate this, as so often inside of the prepper movement we see ideas that are not only dangerous, but likely to put you on the wrong side of the law. Topics that could get you in trouble, either physically or legally, are flagged appropriately through out the book.
The book contains lots of general excellent content, as I said, something for everyone. As such, it would make an excellent first read into this area of prepping. Probably the best first read I have seen, and I've looked at and read a lot of books.
